Dr. Steve Miller, Optometrist
Dr. Miller was born and raised right here in Hutchinson. After graduating from Central Christian High School and the University of Kansas, he managed the Dutch Kitchen Restaurant, which was owned by his family from 1980 to 2007. He attended Indiana University School of Optometry and then opened his solo practice, Miller Vision Care, in Buhler in 2005. In 2016, Dr. Miller joined Grene Vision Group and worked in Buhler and Hutchinson through 2019. At the beginning of 2020, we opened Visionaries Eyecare in a beautifully renovated building that we considered buying way back in 2005. Dr. Miller looks forward to this opportunity to build this practice.
Stephanie Miller, Business Manager
Stephanie is a jack-of-all-trades. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, she’s started her own catering business, massage therapy business, and highly successful homeschool co-op. All this in addition to raising and homeschooling six energetic and amazing kids. Stephanie is excited to lend an important hand to Visionaries behind the scenes, taking over the financial office work, marketing, and administrative duties. She also corrals the kids and helps them understand that running your own business includes the mundane things like sweeping floors and cleaning restrooms.
Cassandra Nobbs, Optician/ Ophthalmic Technician
Casey has worked with Dr. Miller since 2015, and has proven herself again and again as not only an exceptional worker, but also the embodiment of all that we believe is right in the eyecare industry. She has worked as an optician, receptionist, ophthalmic technician, and a scribe, and she performs each of these tasks with excellence. Perhaps above all, our patients and customers like Casey and the personal care she gives to everyone. Casey also works part-time as a youth pastor, investing in the lives of Jr. High and High School kids in our community. Casey and her husband Trevor are a blast to be with and an integral part of our team here at Visionaries.
Stephie Haas, Office Manager/ Ringleader
Stephie is the glue that holds the office together, joining our team in May, 2020. She does a fantastic job of keeping track of all of the insurance reimbursements, payments, and day-to-day accounting, as well as lending a hand to Tricia whenever necessary. Stephie has worked in the eyecare industry for nearly 20 years, and has become phenomenal at the type of medical detective work it takes to navigate patients’ insurance plans and make sure our patients get the best benefits available to them. Stephie also takes seriously her role as office clown. She and her husband JD are a professional song-and-dance duo, and love spending time with their children and grandchildren and cheering on the Chiefs.
Tricia Bussell, Administration Specialist/ Optician
Tricia joined us in December, 2020, and we honestly can’t figure out how we survived without her. Hers is the friendly voice you’ll often hear on the phone or as you approach the front desk. She excels at making sure our schedule runs smoothly and that patients know their insurance benefits at the time of their appointments. She’s also an accomplished optician and fashionista, and really enjoys finding the perfect pair of frames for anyone. Tricia has worked nearly 20 years in the eyecare industry, and has treasure stored up in heaven for the many years she’s worked alongside her sister (our own Stephie Haas). Tricia loves reading and cleaning her house (no joke), and she and her husband James are fans of their kids and grandkids and real rock and roll.
Faith Roper, Optician .
Faith joined our team in 2022. Though this is her first time in optical, she is great at guiding patients to a frame that fits their needs and verifying our custom-made products. Her smile, laughter, and positive attitude is contagious and always makes you feel welcome. Being the 5th child, and first girl, in a line of 13, Faith knows how to keep things going when it gets busy. When Faith is not at Visionaries, she can be found planning and facilitating weddings with dB Extreme. She also spends a lot of time giving love to her nieces and nephews, her “sunshines”.
Bithia Heath, Technician
Bithia is new to Visionaries and the eye care world. She is the technician that you will see at the beginning of your appointment who handles the pretesting and patient workup. Previously a hairstylist, Bithia loves to connect with others through beauty, fashion, and positivity. She believes that the secret to a happy home is filling it with beloved rescue animals – she and her boyfriend have 2 cats, 3 dogs and counting… (they cannot refuse a furry friend in need). In her free time, Bithia is an avid hobbyist, consisting of crafts, video games, and baking. She starts every morning with a curated cup of coffee that helps carry a vivacious energy to the work day at Visionaries. You will see her in different hair colors and sporting her favorite form of self-expression, tattoos.
